Term 1 Week 1
Welcome to all of our new Tennisers, and welcome back to all of our old ones returning! We hope you all had an awesome summer.
This is our first edition of our weekly Exec Blog for this year, written by a member of our exec each week to bring you all up to date with what’s gone on in the previous week!
Having gone through preseason, both the teams, and with a preseason social play and circle, everyone was back and raring to go at Sports Fair. This year sports fair was completely packed with over 300 of you signing up for either trials or social play, a fantastic turnout!
Wednesday saw our Internal Events put through their paces with the large numbers at our taster sessions, while over 100 people were inside trialling for the chance to progress to the next stage of trials on the Saturday. After a long day for all involved, it was time to return to our beloved Copper Rooms for a terrific circle followed by POP, this week featuring a special Birthday Baywatch for Jacko and Connor – we hope you got appropriately hammered!
Trials continued on the Saturday at a ripe 7am in the Westwood Fortress, with once again an outstanding show of tennis by all the men and women, and extremely high standard of tennis producing what we are sure will prove to be a very strong squad this year.
The week ahead looks just as great though – with our Men’s 1st taking on our Men’s 2nd in what will be an epic league opener, followed straight after by our 3rd team battling Nottingham Trent’s 1st team – check out the event. We are, of course, circling this Wednesday from 7pm in the Copper Rooms, with a special GAMBLE CIRCLE this week!
Have a good week!

At the end of a very intense and busy week, Sunday arrived – with what turned out to be the busiest day of the week by far. Not only did our Internal Events, Hattie and James, do an extremely fine job to cope with what is possibly our largest ever turn out for our final taster sessions, and our captains manage to conclude trials and decide upon our teams for the year, but after Warwick being completely unhelpful and locking the room we had booked out – we all managed to kick back and enjoy a beer and some pizza at our welcome meeting. All in all, yet another incredible week for Warwick Tennis!
