Term 3 Week 3
This week has witnessed a multitude of exciting events taking
place such as such as National Crouton Day and National Lost
Sock Memorial Day but nothing quite compares to the events
that happened in UWTC.
On Wednesday night tennis circled once again, providing 20
people the chance to forget about the
stress of the upcoming weeks and
drown their worries in purple. It was
another strong performance by
Cameron and Ronak with highlights
of the night including Ollie attempting
a purple angel and Imran asserting
his dominance over Grace in a pint race in a battle of the captains.
In light of This Girl Can week on Friday some
of the tennis girls signed up to a free dance
class beginning with a warm up which proved
that being flexible wasn’t a trait everyone was
gifted with. Next there was a dance routine to the old classic ‘NO’ by
Megan Trainer which basically just involved shaking hips for the entirety
of the choreography and ended with us spinning and throwing ourselves
to the ground whilst attempting to be sexy (easy right?).
This week there has been some unexpected results concerning the
summer tournament. Ivan actually successfully made it through to
Round 2 of the Mixed Singles match defeating Jamie Brown 6-4, 6-3 with
Ivan’s platinum blonde hair
appearing to blind Jamie at important break points. The epic of Lissaman and Crawford is yet to be played so fear not as there’s still time to get your tickets for that one.
On Sunday Clement took to the stage running a tennis cardio session as part of the This Girl Can week. Apart from Clement being distracted by the
ratio he put on a great performance
and by the end of the session
everyone seemed suitably
exhausted. Alongside this Social Play continued and led to the introduction
of a new game which Annabel creatively called “the Annabel Moore game”.
Unfortunately this game resulted in an injury, so Annabel might have to
conduct a health and safety procedure if she plans on running this one
That’s all from tennis for the next few weeks, hope everyone smashes
their exams but more importantly gets hyped for all the tennis events
planned in the final weeks.
