Term 1 Week 10
Hello friends welcome to the final exec blog of 2017.
Week 10 was a big one and kicked off with the third cardio tennis session of term. To say it was a success would be a lie but it certainly was
memorable as it attracted an impressive crowd
of 2 people (myself and Clement). But fear not;
as it will be returning in term 2 to be bigger and
better than it’s ever been before so keep your
eyes peeled for updates.
Moving swiftly forward, the next highlight of the
week has got to be Wednesday’s social play.
This week Annabel and Ryan pulled out all the
stops by creating Social Play’s first Christmas
tournament. Eight teams battled it out for two
hours playing Waves, Eliminator and Eliminate
the World to fight for a variety of prizes. Whilst
Dallimore was awarded best shot of the day and Cameron won bluff, it’s no surprise that my team outshone the others to win the tournament (well maybe a bit of a surprise - big shout out to Claire, Cameron and Jamie for carrying me). Nor was it a shock that Kraven was given brussel sprouts for worst shot of the day/just generally being shite at tennis – better luck next term Kraven!
Later on that evening was a Christmas themed circle, which had promised to be a big one. The night took a turn for the worst when Kraven and Wiley had to do a pint race with a Christmas twist involving downing milk and stuffing their faces with mince pies. Wiley, the bookie’s favourite, started off strong downing his milk within seconds but seriously struggled when faced with the mince pie, allowing Kraven time to catch up and secure the win. For some, the race proved fairly grim to watch, demonstrated by Maddie Zulu throwing up shortly after and managing to TC about 5 times throughout the
night including a performance into the bin during circle.
Another fresh who provided entertainment in circle was
Annabel who confessed her love for Alex to her mum via
text (she can thank Pete and Ollie for that one). Battle also
had his time to shine by doing a purple snowflake, which
involved him flapping his arms and legs on the floor, whilst
having Ollie mercifully pour purple all over him. Big round
of applause to Battle for not drowning and proving to us all
what a sesh demon he really is.
Thursday night involved the club’s annual Christmas meal,
with Clement and Connor overwhelmed with the numbers
in comparison to last year’s Christmas meal. Whilst
Connor ate almost his entire body weight in forms of
various meat before having to make a swift exit, the others trekked to Kelsey’s to do Harry’s Christmas Charity quiz. Despite the Hoe Hoe Hoes losing every round it was pretty tight between the other teams, with the overall winners Driving Home for Quizmas (by Quiz de Burgh) coming out on top by half a point (largely due to Ollie’s ridiculous wealth of general knowledge).
So that’s it for week 10, this term and 2017 from us at Warwick Tennis. Hope you guys have a fabulous Christmas break and come back hyped for next term.
