TERM 2 WEEK 2
In truth, Week 2 was ages away and I can’t really remember most of it. Social Play and Circle happened and probably some matches were played but I’m not really too sure.
Week 2 started with the sound of Jake Fallon hitting the ice for the eighth time in two minutes as a group of Warwick Tennis’ most adventurous members took the dreaded trip into Coventry for some ice skating. Ben and Marcus took part in an unofficial competition of ‘who can hit the wall and make the loudest sound’, with Ben being declared the winner. Somehow everyone was confident enough to form a 20-man conga line by the end of the evening and we all safely escaped afterwards back to the relative safety of Leam/campus (apart from DCR of course).
On Wednesday, Social play returned INDOORS for more games of Eliminator, waves and bluff. A questionable new game was introduced; one that I don’t think will be reappearing anytime soon. Hype grew for circle in the evening, where Milan valiantly stood in for Ben. Kudos to Milan and Maddie for a quality circle as one half spent the three hours obsessed with balloons, the other half prayed that the squeaking would end. Not sure if everyone’s ears have recovered, but I know that mine haven’t yet.
In terms of BUCS, only the Men's 1s were playing this week in a tough away game against Cambridge 1s! Despite some excellent plays, it wasn't meant to be for some of our top players as we look forward to another week!
Berry and Frances shared their anecdotes on the radio show on Friday and Social Play on Sunday was absolutely freezing, so no change there!
Week 3 is up next, stay classy Tennis.
