TERM 1 WEEK 5
Not much happened in week 5 compared to the previous week.
All teams trained hard at the beginning of the week in preparation for Wednesday's matches:
- Women’s 1’s add to their unbeaten streak with a 10-2 win against East Anglia 1’s while the 2s had a well-deserved week off.
- Men’s 1’s kept their consistent form up with a 12-0 loss against Nottingham 2’s.
- Men's 2’s won a rubber and ended with a 10-2 defeat securing the Warwick one-two positioning at the bottom of the table.
Things are definitely on the way up for the men’s team as the 3’s got a huge win against Leicester 1’s all thanks to some clutch plays in the doubles. Many thanks have to go to Mathieu who was called up with 10 minutes notice to play after Alistair failed to wake up in time after pulling an all-nighter to submit an essay. Great effort from all those who played and supported!
However, Alistair did make it to circle in the evening where many keen circlers had gone to town on their outfits for Halloween Circle– especially Banszky, who I struggled to recognise for at least the first quarter. Circle and POP both proceeded to happen.
The girls hosted a cocktails night on the Friday which I heard was successful, especially after 10 o’clock when their company got even better as the boys joined with an abundance of shots. The weekend hosted a rather cold and intimate social play with tennis being crowned the winner of this week’s bluff tournament.
Next week will see more matches, more circle and a long-awaited Dom Tour. That is all - see you next week!
